A big favorite of ours are the illustrations done in the early 19th Century by “The Sanborn Map Company.” Surprisingly, Fake Studio recreated one of these iconic pieces using 3D imaging techniques and design methods more commonly found in todays world. Mad props go out to Fake Studio’s for this one!

At first glance the image seems to only be a set of random elements you’d use to enhance various type treatments; however designer, Jan Schöttler has created something so much more.
The CombineBox is an avantgardistic interpretation of the traditional Schwabacher typeface. You get 30 single elements which can be freely combined to get new letters, which stick to the roots of the Schwabacher type, but have the individual touch of the one using it.
